T Level College Courses

New T Level courses are to launch in select colleges across the country from September 2020. The courses will follow GCSE’s and are equivalent to 3 A Levels. These 2-year courses have been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares students for work.

Every T Level will include an industry placement with an employer focused on developing the practical and technical skills required for the occupation. Employers can offer industry placement as a block, day release or a mix of the two and can also share part of the placement with another employer.

Chichester College, Fareham College, Farnborough College of Technology, Havant and South Downs College & Peter Symonds College have all been selected to deliver T Levels from the 2020-2021 academic year, providing businesses with plenty of opportunity to get involved.

If you are interested in finding out more about industry placements you can call 08000 150 600 or email: tlevel.placement@education.gov.uk

The Apprenticeship Levy

If you are an employer with a pay bill over £3 million each year, you must pay the apprenticeship levy from 6th April 2017.

The Levy will not affect the way you fund training for apprentices who started an apprenticeship programme before 1st May 2017. You will need to carry on funding training for these apprentices under the terms and conditions that were in place at the time the apprenticeship started.

More information on the Apprenticeship Levy can be found here:
